With the addition of Prep’s two certified athletic trainers, Athletic Training has now been added to the already strong athletic tradition.
Prep’s Athletic Training team consists of two full-time Athletic Trainers and a Team Doctor. The Athletic Trainers are available on campus for student-athletes to be seen in two athletic training rooms in the Perkins Athletic Center and the basement of the Humanities Building. They cover a majority of varsity and some sub-varsity sporting events.
With both secondary school and collegiate sports medicine experience, necessary health care services are made available to student-athletes by the athletic trainer in collaboration with physicians. The Athletic Training services at Prep allows for the ready evaluation, treatment, and physical rehabilitation of injuries optimizing the activity and participation of our student-athletes. Athletic Training includes the management of acute and chronic injuries, conditions, and/or physical limitations affecting the physically active using approved techniques to facilitate recovery and determine appropriate course of action.
Priority practice and game coverage is given to the sports with the most risk for injury, though coordination with coaches and staff of all sports exists to respond to student-athletes in a timely manner.
