Earlier this month, freshman and sophomore members of Prep’s Economics Club claimed an historic first by winning the highly competitive Euro Challenge National Finals in New York City. This also marks the second time Prep’s team has reached the semifinals since it began participating about a decade ago.

The Euro Challenge is a national competition for freshmen and sophomores on the topic of Macroeconomics Challenges and Opportunities facing the European Union. It is judged by current professionals in the international banking community. Student teams research, prepare, and present an overview of major economic indicators in the EU and one member country, analyze an economic challenge, and then propose solutions. Each presentation is followed by a rigorous Q & A by the practitioner judges.

Prep’s team showed great initiative, dedication, and mastery while preparing their written and oral presentations on the subject of “Boosting Growth and Competitiveness” in Estonia.

The team will now visit Washington, D.C. to receive a tour and to give their presentation to members of the E.U. Delegation to the United States and at Estonia’s Embassy.

We congratulate:

  • Pratyush Majumdar, ’27
