Major Service Opportunities

Summer Immersion
Each year, Saint Peter’s Prep runs a number of week-long Christian Service summer immersion trips. Students and faculty who participate in these trips speak of engaging and eye-opening experiences. These trips are a chance for Prep students to leave their comfort zones behind for a week and live in solidarity with people who are poor and marginalized. Students will complete up to 60 hours of Christian Service on these trips.  For more information, please email Mr. Keith Cummings ‘10 cummingsk@spprep.org

Higher Achievement Program (HAP)
Founded in 1964, Prep’s Higher Achievement Program (HAP) has provided an unforgettable summer experience for some 7,500 young men from Jersey City and beyond in the months between their seventh and eighth grades. This unique five-week enrichment program combines academics, athletics and creative classroom techniques while teaching that learning can be fun and exciting. Sophomores & Juniors can complete their Class Year requirements during HAP; 15 Hours & 60 Hours respectively. For more information, please email Mr. John Irvine ’83, P’11 irvinej@spprep.org.

Prep Athletic Camps
Each summer, Prep hosts summer athletic camps for the youth. These are coordinated by Prep coaches, who recruit Prep students to help facilitate the camp. Expectations for the camps are set by the coaches. In order to get service hours for helping with these camps, students must log the hours on MobileServe and the coaches will approve them as the service supervisor. Students can complete up to 60 hours assisting in Athletic Camps. Please contact the Athletics Department for more information on camp service opportunities.
