Assessment Accommodations Testing Policy

*applicable to all students who receive assessment accommodations

To request accommodations on a full period assessment, students must fill out the BC Assessment Scheduling form 24 hours prior to the date of the assessment.

Students who receive any assessment accommodations must complete the assessment on the scheduled date unless otherwise arranged. The arrangement needs to be confirmed with a Browning Staff member and the teacher at least 24 hours prior to the start of the assessment.

The Browning Center opens at 7:30am and closes at 3:30pm every day. The Browning Center is able to  administer assessments throughout the day, including community and lunch periods as well as before and after school.

Browning Center Testing Room Rules

  1. Students must check-in with a Browning Center staff member prior to starting the assessment.
  2. All students must check-in cell phones, all electronic devices and bags with Browning Center Staff.
  3. Students must abide by the timing regulations set forth by the Browning Center staff.

*Failure to comply with the testing policy and testing room rules will result in a loss of the accommodations for that specific assessment

*IMPORTANT

1. If a student does not have any free periods or is unable to stay after school, he can utilize free periods, lunch, academic support, or the 7:30am time slot.

*Please be sure to communicate this with the Browning Center Staff as well as your teacher at least 24 hours prior so that the Browning Center Staff can obtain the assessment.

2. Advocacy is always encouraged! Students are expected to be proactive in communicating with the Browning Center Staff as well as with teachers.

3. Teachers are permitted to administer assessments by sections. In this format, students may be required to finish one section of the assessment before beginning the next section

* If a student does not use his accommodations or access them frequently, this could also result in a loss of accommodations. Prior to midterms and final exams, students will receive a google form providing the option to decline accommodations. If a student declines an accommodation/accommodations on a midterm or final, that/those accommodations will be removed from their service plan/504.
