In May 2025, Prep’s Board of Trustees approved a strategic vision for Saint Peter’s Prep that will guide our planning and policy priorities for years to come. Over the past year, Prep President Michael Gomez, Ed.D., ’91 and a strategic vision team worked with and listened to faculty and staff, current parents, the Alumni Board, Student Council, and the Board of Trustees. The strategic vision, shared in full at the bottom of this page, emerged from those conversations.
“Our new strategic vision is intentionally just one page,” explained Dr. Gomez. “This enables it to be adaptive, evolutionary, and agile, or said another way, ‘open to God’s whisper.’ Each bullet point represents a deep area of work that could fill many pages, but the vision itself is designed to be a living framework clear enough to inspire, flexible enough to evolve as the world changes.”
At the center of this vision are four non-negotiables—four pillars that form the foundation of Prep’s future: Jesuit identity and values; academic excellence and innovation; Prep community; and financial sustainability. The video below explores these four pillars in more detail:
The four pillars describe the essence of what Saint Peter’s Prep is and will continue to become. But of equal importance is what Prep will do in the coming years. As Dr. Gomez noted recently, “That is where the five impact areas flowing from those pillars come in: student formation, enrollment, advancement, finance, and operations. Now, I know those words may not sound inspiring on their own — but what they represent is extraordinary. They are the engines that will carry Prep forward over the next decade and beyond.”
Over the summer and in just the first few weeks of the new school year, the strategic vision has already begun to come to life at Grand & Warren, with numerous initiatives listed in the five impact areas already underway.
Key to the strategic vision is a holistic view of Prep’s operations today and Prep’s goals for tomorrow. “These are not just projects. They are our future. They are our dreams. They are our mission — tightly woven together into a single vision that connects every part of who we are and what we aspire to be,” Dr. Gomez said. “The strategic vision is about joining all this good work together — not as separate efforts, but as one Prep story, faithful to Prep’s identity and bold about its future.”
