Prep’s Economics Club’s High School Fed Challenge team, comprised of current juniors and seniors, ranks among the top twelve teams in the nation for 2025 and will have their work featured in the Journal of Future Economists.
This distinguished academic paper competition, organized by the Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Cleveland, was open to high school teams across the United States for the first time this year.
Prep competed among 195 public and private institutions to share this honor.
“We were thrilled with the national submissions we saw in this year’s competition,” said Heather Daly, director of economic education at the New York Fed, in a press release. “We’re grateful to our colleagues at the Board of Governors and the Cleveland Fed for their partnership and support from across the Federal Reserve System, which gave schools across the United States and territories an opportunity to participate.”
For 30 years, the High School Fed Challenge has invited student teams to research and analyze an economic theme. Each team then writes and submits a podcast script reflecting that research.
Prep’s script on Food Economics in the U.S. was titled “Chipotle and the Fast-Casual Revolution: How Food Economics Reshapes the U.S. Economy.”

“After about a decade of hard work and participation, and a tradition of refinement and steady improvement passed along year-by-year from senior students to juniors, Prep’s 2025 team made this breakthrough,” Economics Club moderator Mr. Anthony Keating, ’78, P’10 said. “They join Prep’s 2025 freshmen and sophomores in achieving the highest result possible in their respective national competitions.”
Earlier this year, Prep freshmen and sophomores triumphed at the 2025 Euro Challenge, taking home first prize.
