The New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) Science, Medicine, and Related Topics (SMART) Summer Program is a pre-college enrichment initiative designed to inspire students to pursue careers in health science and biomedical professions.
Established in 1991, SMART aims to provide educational opportunities to economically and educationally disadvantaged students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in health-related fields. The program fosters youth development and academic excellence through hands-on experiences, engaging activities, and academic support.
The application for the 2025 summer session is now live! The program will run from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM, daily, from June 30, 2025, to July 25, 2025. Please note that the program will be held virtually four days a week and in-person one day a week.
All rising 10th-12th graders to apply by submitting an application via their website: https://njms.rutgers.edu/education/odace/smart/index.php.
The application and all required documentation must be submitted online by Friday, May 9, 2025.
