The theme for Prep’s 150th anniversary celebration over the past 16 months has been Pride & Glory: Then. Now. Always. And there was certainly no shortage of Pride & Glory to be found at the Venetian as more than 500 guests gathered to celebrate the five newest Legends of Prep on Wednesday night! Created in 1993 to celebrate alumni and others in the Prep community who have had a profound positive impact upon Saint Peter’s Prep and upon the greater community by exemplifying the ideals of Jesuit education, the Legends of Prep awards are the highest honor presented by the Prep Alumni Association. There can be no question that these five latest honorees have had just such an impact, shaping the lives of their students, the lives of their colleagues, and the life of Prep itself.
“Their presence, their words, their smiles, their idiosyncrasies…and their day-to-day, unwavering commitment have transformatively enriched this 150-year project of sharpening minds, strengthening character, and moving hearts,” said Prep President Michael Gomez, Ed.D., ’91 in his welcoming remarks. He added, “The gifts they have given, we shall never forget.”
