At the Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Wednesday, two upperclassmen were honored as the first Prep Spirit Award recipients of the year. Congratulations to our newest Spirit Award recipients: Charles Burt, ’23 and Nicolai Mendoza, ’24. They are pictured above with Prep Principal Chris Caulfield, ’03, President Michael Gomez, Ed.D., ’91, and Dean of Student Life Catie Eppler.

The Prep Spirit Awards were introduced in November 1981 by then-principal Fr. John Browning, S.J. ’46. It was Fr. Browning’s hope that the awards would celebrate all that Prep represented. They also remind us that heroes come in many different forms, and that we should recognize them among us. We hope as well that all can see the good deeds in those we recognize and use their example to inspire our own work. As we celebrate our awardees, we celebrate the community that sends them forth and nourishes their life among us.
