The Alumni Spirituality Committee invites all members of the Prep community to join in a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs in Auriesville, New York, on Friday, June 6. The shrine is home to a Jesuit cemetery that is the final resting place for dozens of legendary Jesuits who have served at Prep through the years. The shrine is dedicated in memory of the Jesuit North American Martyrs, three Jesuit missionaries who were martyred at the nearby village of Ossernenon in 1642 and 1646.
Schedule for the pilgrimage | Friday, June 6. Other than the 8:30 meeting time, times are approximate
- 8:30 AM – Meet at Prep. The committee has chartered a coach bus for the journey.
- Noon – Arrive at the Auriesville shrine. Our time at the shrine will include a brief tour and a picnic lunch. Sandwiches, soda, and water will be provided.
- 3:30 PM – Board for return bus trip to Prep.
- 7 PM – Arrive back at Prep
The fee, to cover the cost of the bus and refreshments, is $30 per person. The committee asks participants to pay in cash on the day of the pilgrimage. Participants may leave their cars in the Prep parking lot on York Street. We will make the trip rain or shine.
