Nearly fifty alumni—a Prep Career Day record—returned home to Grand & Warren on Friday, December 13 to share their stories with current students as part of an annual tradition organized by the Offices of Alumni Relations, Student Life, and Guidance & College Counseling.
The day began in Prep’s gymnasium with keynote speaker Vito Germinario, ’70, co-founder and CEO of Glass Projects Resource, Inc. In addition to being a Prep trustee, he has also served as chairman of the Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic Foundation and as a founding member and chairman of Feathers from Devon.
He began his speech by inviting everyone to stand and deliver a rousing “Hallelujah!”
“What I’m telling you is my Prep education prepared me so well for life. It’s why I owe them a debt that I can never, ever, ever repay,” he said, and in calling to mind the values of honor, dignity, respect, integrity, and passion, he ignited our students as they continue their search for their own “Greater Perhaps.”
Prep’s current student body then adjourned to rooms throughout Hogan, Shalloe, and Mulry Halls, the Moriarty Science Center, and the English Building for 30-minute sessions with alumni. Our guests spanned decades of Prep graduation years and represented industries spanning education, engineering, journalism, finance, firefighting, athletics, aeronautics, and beyond.
The day then concluded with lunch in the O’Keefe Commons.
