Congratulations to seniors Gavin Gerstenbluth and Jean Oh, who have been named semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition. In addition, we celebrate twelve more Prep seniors who have been named 2025 National Merit Commended Students. In all, these categories represent the top 50,000 scores nationwide among the more than 1.6 million students who took the PSAT as high school juniors in 2023.
Gavin and Jean were among 16,000 seniors nationwide named National Merit Semifinalists, and will continue in the competition. Semifinalists have the opportunity to progress to the Finalist stage, and approximately 7,500 of the finalists will be selected as National Merit Scholars in the spring.
Another 12 seniors were among the 34,000 Commended Students, who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Congratulations to the following:
