For the first time ever, a Prep alum will take the floor in a NBA Summer League game. The all-time leading scorer in Saint Peter’s Prep basketball history, Mark Armstrong, ’22 will play with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2024 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Armstrong signed with the Brooklyn Nets as an undrafted free agent on June 28th. He spent the last two years playing at Villanova University, where he was a two year starter and averaged 24.5 minutes per game and 8.4 points per game in his sophomore campaign with the Wildcats. He becomes a member of the team that plays their home games at the Barclays Center, located 21 miles away from his hometown of South Orange, New Jersey, and 6 miles away from Grand & Warren.

The NBA Summer League is an offseason tournament that features rookies, sophomores, and NBA G-League affiliate players. The prestigious showcase started in 2002, and has grown in the past few years as a notable event on the NBA calendar. The Nets will compete in their first Summer League game on July 12th against the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., and the game will be aired live on NBA TV.

Please tune in to watch Prep’s very own compete against the best basketball players in the world, and the Prep community is looking forward to cheering on Mark as he begins his professional basketball career!
