The skies were gray on Friday morning, but the streets of downtown Jersey City were filled with maroon. It was the return of the Prep Walkathon!

While there could be no matching the picture-postcard conditions that awaited the 2022 Walkathon, spirits this were still bright. Crucially, the Prep community managed to raise well over $62,000 for financial aid. That’s a 24% increase over last year! The Walkathon, a staple of the Prep calendar from 1978-2010, has long been both a celebration of Prep Pride and a demonstration of Prep students’ willingness to support one another by helping to collect donations for financial aid. It’s all possible with the tireless efforts of Prep’s Dean of Student Life, Ms. Catie Eppler, and the enthusiastic support of students, families, faculty, and staff. Two years into the revival that began in 2022, it’s clear this old tradition has found new legs!

Walk with us along the two waterfront routes and back to Keenan Field for the Walkathon Carnival (an element added in 2000). This highlight video captures the spirit of the day, and some dramatic (if foggy) scenery!
