Ten Prep students traveled to Regis High School on August 31 with Dean of Student Life Ms. Catherine Eppler for a joint leadership workshop.
Across the workshop, the team worked to explore leadership styles and how to work with others when their styles do not match, examined leadership through the Ignatian lens, and built their leadership toolboxes with helpful strategies to implement at Prep and beyond. In addition to students from Prep and Regis, the day also welcomed students from Loyola School.
“Over the years, there’s been a genuine desire to strengthen collaboration with our Jesuit brothers and sisters, especially those in NYC,” Ms. Eppler said. “This workshop was, hopefully, the tipping point — giving students the chance to build something they could be proud of, together. The adults stepped back and let the students lead.”
In one month, attendees will present a proposal for their own project on: Education, Mentorship, and Opportunity; Care for Creation and Sustainable Schools; or Technology, Media, and Ethical Leadership
