The Prep community raised nearly $21,000 for pediatric cancer research at its 2nd Annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation event on January 13, more than double last year’s impressive inaugural efforts.
This year’s fundraiser, organized by Patrick Naughton, ‘26 and Eric Farrell, ’27 with the support of the Office of Campus Ministry and Office of Student Life, invited students and adults to shave their heads in solidarity with children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatments.
“By shaving our heads, we remind sick children that they are not alone,” Naughton said in a message to the school community.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a nonprofit well-known for such events, which encourage participants to engage their own networks as sponsors in their commitment to shave their heads in support of childhood cancer research.
We were pleased to welcome two alumni barbers, Danny Vecchiarelli, ’07 of Bello Barbers and Calvin Alston, ’11, as well as Enrique Rodriguez of Cut It Out Barbershop that day.
