Congratulations to 17 members of the Class of 2026 who have earned recognition in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition! Prep senior Spencer Neissen has been named a semifinalist in the competition, while another 16 seniors who have been named 2025 National Merit Commended Students. In all, these categories represent the top 50,000 scores nationwide among the more than 1.6 million students who took the PSAT as high school juniors in 2024.
Spencer was among 16,000 seniors nationwide named National Merit Semifinalists, and will continue in the competition. Semifinalists have the opportunity to progress to the Finalist stage, and approximately 7,500 of the finalists will be selected as National Merit Scholars in the spring.
