For the second time ever, a Prep alum has been drafted in the NFL Draft. Cody Simon, ’20 was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 115 overall pick, the 13th pick of the fourth round, in the 2025 NFL Draft. He joins Minkah Fitzpatrick, ’15 as the only two Prep alum to be drafted into the NFL.
Simon won the 2019 state championship with Prep, and was a first-team All-State selection as a junior and as a senior. He continued his football career at Ohio State, where he played for five seasons. In his final season he was named a first-team All-Big Ten player, the Defensive MVP of the Rose Bowl in Ohio State’s 41-21 win over No. 1-ranked Oregon, and the Defensive MVP of the National Championship in Ohio State’s 34-23 win over No. 7-ranked Notre Dame.
