The Classes of 2027 and 2028 gathered in Prep’s gymnasium on March 19 for our annual Women’s History Month Panel, a PM in the AM session inviting four Women of Prep to share their experiences and perspectives on life at Grand & Warren in a conversation moderated by Prep students.
This year’s panel welcomed Ms. Nicole Placencia of the Mathematics Department; Ms. Maria D’Hyver of the World Languages Department; Ms. Claudia Ross, P’20 of the Campus Shop; and Mrs. Caroline Hutchinson, Chairperson of the History Department and Soccer Coach.
The assembly was organized by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; the Office of Student Life; the Student Council; and the Diversity Board.
“I think it’s really important to talk about the women at Saint Peter’s Prep, the impact they have on all of you as young men, and how they’re helping to shape you as future leaders of the world,” Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Ms. Dalma Santana said as she began the morning.

Taking questions from Prep students, the panel then discussed topics such as teaching at a Jesuit school and offered advice for the students in attendance to apply to their everyday lives at Prep and beyond.
“There is a feeling of love in our community,” Ms. Ross said. “I think we genuinely love and care about each person that is here, whether that’s faculty, staff, or student. And I think it’s really special to be a part of that.”
“You have a unique opportunity to learn how to be of service to others,” she continued.
“We show up because we love; we’re passionate about what we do,” Ms. D’Hyver agreed.
The “PM in the AM” or Prep Man in the Morning series of assemblies explores a variety of topics throughout the year relevant to the formation of Jesuit high school students.
