The Spring Athletic Season is already upon us, and scrimmages have started up at Grand & Warren. Join us for a look at what’s ahead…But first, looking back on Prep’s extraordinary Winter Season, please join us in congratulating all our student athletes on some unforgettable highlights!
- Basketball won the County Championship and finished the season as NJ’s #4 Team. The team was also named HCIAL Team of the Year.
- Wrestling won the County and District Championships and finished the season as the NJ #3 and the US # 23 Team! Caedyn Ricciardi, ’25 won the 138lb. State Title.
- Swimming broke several school records, won the County Championship, and finished the season as NJ’s #9 Team.
- Track won the County Championship and finished #2 in the Group Championships. The 4×4 team finished #3 in the USA.
- Fencing qualified for the state tournament, advanced to the Sweet 16, and finished as NJ’s #6 Team.
We thank all our coaches and congratulate Head Basketball Coach Alex Mirabel and Head Track Coach Russell Jenkins for being named “Coach of the Year” by the North Jersey Basketball Officials Association and the Hudson County Track Coaches Association.
Baseball has won their first three scrimmages with a 5-1 victory over Millburn yesterday! This week, they continue to scrimmage with St. Peter’s SI, Montclair, and Notre Dame. The regular season opens April 1 with a home game against Hun at Caven Point.
Following tryouts the week prior, Lacrosse hosted New Providence at JFK in their only scrimmage last Thursday, claiming a 7-2 victory. They take on Millburn High School in their first regular season match on April 2.
Marauder Golf opened the season at Skyway vs. Don Bosco on March 21. They take on Dwight Englewood this Wednesday and Montclair Kimberly on Thursday.
Marauder Crew hosted St. Augustine Prep on the water March 16, sweeping the day, and will compete in the TJ Hunt Invitational at Lake Lenape this weekend.
Coming up, Outdoor Track kicks off with the SDA Invitational on April 1 at Lincoln Park. Marauder Volleyball scrimmages Essex County Tech this Wednesday and then goes head-to-head with Hudson Catholic on April 3. Tennis takes on Bayonne at Lincoln Park on April 8.
