Alfonso Williams, ’22 will attend the Advanced Space Academy Program at NASA’s Marshall Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, this summer. Alfonso was one of six students at high schools in the Archdiocese of Newark awarded a scholarship through the Scholarship Fund for Innner-City Children (SFIC) to attend Space Camp this year.

The Advanced Space Academy is a weeklong program featuring a variey of astronaut training exercises, engineering challenges, and team-building activities, culminating in a simulated space mission.

For the past 25 years, SFIC benefactors Mark and Kathy Walchak have provided this unique summer experience to high school students with an interest in science throughout Northern New Jersey. Current seniors Eric Han, ’21 and Max Rueda, ’21, who attended in the summer of 2019, are among the past Prep students selected for the scholarship.
