The Saint Peter’s Prep football team had a season like no other. With Covid-19 giving so many uncertainties and doubt, the team made sure to take advantage of every opportunity and challenge it faced. Not only did the group, which dealt with daily temperature checks and a two-week quarantine, dominate on the field, but they were great leaders off the gridiron as well. This season was Coach Rich Hansen’s last as head coach and the team made sure to send him away with a memorable season.

This year the Marauders finished the season with a 4-2 record and ranked 5th in the state. Tahj Bullock, once again, led the show for the Marauders. Jaylan Sanchez had 21 receptions for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while Samuel Slade had 474 rushing yards with three touchdowns. Paul Lefkowitz had 463 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Ken Soares added 11 receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns. George Rooks had 41 tackles and eight sacks on the defensive end, while Marc Pretto had 49 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. The Marauders finished the season with many postseason honors and Coach Hansen finished his career with a 274-77-1 record. It may not have been the season many wanted or expected, but the team capitalized during a time where many struggled. Congratulations to the entire football program and we look forward to the 2021 season.
