The Saint Peter’s Prep cross country team, No. 13 in the NJ Milesplit Top 20, topped off a sensational season by winning its first ever Non-Public A North State Sectional title, 29-61, over Seton Hall Prep on Sunday at Garret Mountain. The Marauders battled through an immense amount of adversity, including injuries and teammates sidelined due to COVID-19, to bring home the state sectional title.

The team, led by Rodolfo Sanchez’s second-place finish, put four runners in the top 10 and had a 1-5 split of 1:01. Edwin Klanke and Ethan Blackwelder finished third and fifth while Alex Schimmel finished eighth, respectively.

Jack Glynn finished 11th, Jack Sipperly finished 21st, and Patrick McCabe, rounding out the top seven, finished in 22nd.
