Please join us in welcoming Prep’s new Chief Advancement Officer, Loual Puliafito.
In this role, Loual will oversee the programs and operations of our Advancement Office, which include annual giving, alumni relations, and special events, as well as planned giving, prospect research, and the related databases. He will report to Jim Horan, ’70, Vice President for Planning & Principal Giving, who also served as interim CAO for the past year. In addition, Loual will be a strategic partner to both Jim and President Michael Gomez, Ed.D., ’91 with regard to Prep’s major fundraising initiatives. Since 2012, Loual served as Senior Director of Development & Philanthropy at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, playing a major role in directing its annual fundraising operations, as well as working in partnership with the Archdiocese of New York during its $200 million capital campaign.
Significantly, Loual has deep roots in Jesuit education. He graduated from St. Ignatius School and then Xavier High School in Manhattan, where he played varsity tennis, served as Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, and helped to initiate service and immersion trips. In 2004 he earned a degree in history from Fordham University, where he was the first freshman Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook and was one of two student supervisors of the RamVan operation.
He began his professional career in 2005 by returning to Xavier as Director of Emerging Constituent Groups, Internet Relations & Planned Giving. Four years later he became Director of Institutional Advancement at Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island and served in that role for three years before his appointment at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
Loual resides in Staten Island with his wife Daniela (who works in the Advancement Office at Fordham University) and their four children.
