Ray Ford Jr. scored a game-high 14 points, including four free throws with less than 2 minutes remaining, and had four rebounds and one steal as top-seeded Saint Peter’s Prep, No. 8 No. 7in the NJ.com Top 20, defeated third-seeded and No. 17 Marist, 44-41, in the final round of the Hudson County Tournament on Saturday at High Tech in Secaucus.

Mark Armstrong had 12 points, three steals and two rebounds while Will White had seven points, three rebounds and two steals for the Marauders, who won their first Hudson County title in nine years. Mike Farrell had five points, four rebounds and one block while Gavin O’Farrell had five points two rebounds and two steals.

The Marauders will go on to host Seton Hall Prep in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Non-Public A Tournament on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. in Prep’s Memorial Gymnasium. Game preview
