James Ryan scored three goals as 16th-seeded Saint Peter’s Prep defeated 17th-seeded Paul VI, 5-1, in the preliminary round of the NJSIAA Non-Public Tournament at the Secaucus Ice Rink on Friday.

Michael Canosa had one goal and two assists while Cory Robinson netted one goal for the Marauders, which outscored its opponent, 4-1, in the third period. Jimmy Gallagher had 16 saves while Tyler Fearon and James Ashe added one assist apiece.

Prep will go on to face top-seeded Christian Brothers Academy, No. 2 in the NJ.com Top 20, on Thursday at the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall.
