The Saint Peter’s Prep track and field team continued its impressive performances by winning the Hudson County Track & Field Indoor Championships at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, NY. The Marauders won seven out of the 10 events contested and solidified itself as one of the best teams in the state. The team won its the fourth straight title for the team, which outscored second place Hudson Catholic, 132-43.

Rodolfo Sanchez was a double winner, taking the 3200m in a NJ #14 9:40.30 and the 1600m (4:29.72), while Joey Morrone won the 400m in the NJ 3# 49.87 for SPP. Fitzroy Ledgister won the 55m (6.63) and took second in the long jump in a NJ #7 21-5 1/2 while Luqman Gbadamassi won the 55m hurdles (7.93) and was second in the 400 in a NJ #12 50.50.

Jaylan Sanchez brought home gold in the long jump with a NJ #3 21-11 1/2 while Luke Bradley finished second in the 3200 with a NJ #20 9:41.86. Finally, the 4x400m relay (Miles Hooper, Gbadamassi, Ledgister, Morrone) closed out the meet in dominating fashion, winning the race in a NJ #4 3:25.46.

The Marauders will go on to compete at the Catholic Track Conference Championships on Sunday at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, NY. The meet begins at 10 A.M.
