The Saint Peter’s Prep track and field team, led by the NJ #3 and US #8 Sprint Medley Relay, made history once again by capturing its fifth straight title at the Hudson County Relay Championships on Tuesday at the Jersey City Armory in Jersey City.

The SMR relay, consisting of Joey Morrone, Luqman Gbadamassi, Fitzroy Ledgister and Edwin Klanke, threw down a sizzling 3:39.10, winning the race by 14 seconds. The Marauders were victories in four out of eight events. The team also received victories in the shuttles hurdles relay (NJ #5 31.88), distance medley relay (11:04.85) and the 4x800m relay (8:35.74).

Owen Fletcher threw the top throw of the meet in the shot put with a throw of 43-00.50 while Ledgister finished third overall in the high jump with a 5-6 leap.

Next up for the Marauders will be the NJSIAA Non-Public A Relay Championships on Jan. 20 at the John Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River.
