Fr. Matt graduated from West Point in 1986 and was commissioned an Infantry officer. He transferred to the Reserves upon entering Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University. He was ordained a priest in 1997. He re-entered Active Duty as an Army chaplain. Since June 2015, he has been assigned at West Point as the Senior Chaplain. Fr. Matt has been awarded the Bronze Star, is a Senior Parachutist and Ranger qualified.
