The St. Peter’s Prep 4x800m relay team showcased its talent this weekend and proved they are one of the top teams in the nation at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City.
Leading off the relay was senior Paul Ames who ran with the tough field and split a personal best 1:59.02. Next up was senior Chris Brooks who kept the relay in the mix with the top 3 teams, running a personal best 1:58.02. Sophomore, Edwin Klanke had a gutsy performance by putting the relay team in second place with a personal best time of 1:55.81. Finally, sophomore Rodolfo Sanchez brought Prep home with another personal best split of 2:01.56 crossing the line in fifth place. The overall time of 7:54.40 is just off the school record, ranked #2 in New Jersey and #6 in the U.S.
Next up for the Marauders will be the NJSIAA Group Championship this Saturday at the Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River.
