Prep’s Class of 1968 came home to Grand & Warren last weekend for a celebration 50 years in the making. A variety of activities, spread over three days, gave the newest class of Prep Cepheans a chance to catch up with old friends and get reacquainted with life at Prep.

Cocktails in the Siperstein Library and a campus tour got things started on Friday, followed by an excursion northward to Ramsey, where the class witnessed a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback and overtime win for the Marauders over Don Bosco. Saturday’s highlights included a bus tour of Jersey City and Hoboken – which look just a bit different in 2018 compared even to 1998, let alone 1968! – and dinner and dancing in Prep’s O’Keefe Commons. That gave Class Chair Jon Hammer, ’68 – usually found tending bar at Prep reunions for the past several decades  – a well-deserved opportunity to join the party!

The festivities concluded on Sunday morning, with Mass in the Hammer Heritage Room – named, fittingly, in honor of Jon Hammer – and the presentation of Golden Diplomas by Fr. Boller. The group then gathered for brunch at the Light Horse Tavern, before beginning the countdown to their 55th reunion in the spring of 2023!
