With just 85 days remaining before graduation, the Class of 2017 joined members of Prep's faculty and staff on Wednesday morning for the annual Senior-Faculty Breakfast. In keeping with tradition, it was a good time to share a meal, some memories and reflections, and a good laugh.
Following the Ash Wednesday prayer service, six seniors were presented with Prep Spirit Awards.
The Prep community gathered Wednesday morning in the gym to take the first steps together in a Lenten journey of reflection. Fr. Matt Cassidy, S.J. presided at the Ash Wednesday prayer service, and invited the community to celebrate a time of renewal, to be open to spiritual growth, and to accept the mark of ashes "as an outward sign of this inward journey."
Prep Fencing completed an undefeated season Wednesday night, topping perennial powerhouse Columbia High School 16-11 to secure the program's first ever state championship. Although Prep had a fencing team in the 1950s and '60s, the current iteration began as a club offering in the 2005-06 school year, making this rapid rise through the state rankings all the more impressive.
