Thanksgiving is almost here, and that means it's time for our annual Thanksgiving food drive! However, this year, our drive comes with a new twist. Instead of competing to see which homeroom can collect the most items, we'll be competing against other Jesuit schools in what's been dubbed... The Great Ignatian Challenge!
From October 17 through November 18, students from Prep, Xavier High School, Loyola School, Regis High School, and Fordham Prep will compete to raise the most food donations for a food bank of their choice. The goal is to raise a total of 100,000 food items total between the five schools. At Prep, we're setting a baseline goal of 5,000 food items total -- that's just five items per student!
Our donations will benefit the Prep Food Pantry, which provides groceries for about fifty Jersey City families each month. With your help, we'll not only be able to feed more people, but to keep the Food Pantry shelves full through the winter months!
There are two ways to donate:
- Math Class: Each Math class has been assigned a specific food item to collect, and donations can be dropped in the box in your classroom any day of the week! To find out what item your class has, talk to your teacher or Mr. DiBrita.
- Donate Online: Shop and donate online through our YouGiveGoods drive! Just click the link and follow the instructions to securely and easily donate food items.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Sal DiBrita, '12. Let's show the New York schools what Jersey can do!
