Prep's faculty and staff closed out last week with a celebration of their soon-to-retire colleague, Joe Urbanovich, '65, P'00,'04. As a student for four years, a baseball coach for more than 35, and a math teacher for the past eight – not to mention a proud Prep father to three alumni – he has left his mark at Grand & Warren in six different decades, earning a reputation for persistent dedication and the respect of his players, students and colleagues at each step of the journey.

As you pass under the Garden State Parkway, headed east on Route 3 through Clifton, the dominant color is green, thanks to the trees lining the edge of Upper Montclair Country Club's spectacular 27-hole golf course. But as of this week there's a distinct patch of maroon mixed in...and a sure sign that summer (and the Saint Peter's Prep – Frenkel & Company Golf Tournament) is on its way!

Prep will return to J. Paul's in Georgetown for an Alumni Happy Hour on May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Don't just head home from work on a Thursday night...join your Washington-area Prep buddies for an evening out. It's a great chance to catch up with old friends or meet fellow alumni in your area. Now that's a capital idea!

The Prep Alumni Board met Monday night to review the nominations for Legends of Prep X, and selected six recipients for the Alumni Association's highest honor. They include three alumni, two Jesuits and the longest-serving current member of the Prep faculty, representing decades' worth of commitment to serving Prep and the broader community.
